My name is Gabriella. Iʼm 24 years old and came to Betel from Kings Cross, London.
I started experimenting with drugs when I was 12. I was someone who would always take things to the extreme. I left home at 15 to live with my boyfriend. Together we got deeper into drugs, eventually becoming heroin addicts. By 17 I was in prison. For a while I lived the "highlife" with a good job and good money but soon ended up on the streets begging. I experienced a lot of abuse physically and mentally in my relationship.
In the end, two ladies from the Salvation Army showed me concern. It was then that I realised there must be a way out. It is through Betel that God has really turned my life around. Iʼve regained confidence. I have a hope and a future to look forward to now. I wake up every day knowing that Iʼm free from drugs.
God is really filling that emptiness I was trying to fill and has restored the relationship with my family. My husband Lee and I lead the Betel work in the London area and are now married with two beautiful children, a daughter and a son!
